PREMISE

With Ascend, UNI introduces a replacement typology within the realm of Classroom Competitions. It intends to offer a chance to students to master the potential of various building elements, that compose the planning of a structure.

We also understand that a client’s input is critical in anchoring a building’s design. For an experience that’s highlighted by the stress of the user, it’s necessary for a designer and therefore the client to figure in unison. The competition intends to supply students a chance to plan design directives, by anchoring the client because the main focus. The client, though fictional, is rooted within the context of the important world.

The competition embarks on the thought of making fundamental design challenges to reinforce a student’s learning experience. Providing opportunities that one may encounter outside the domain of a design school.

CHALLENGE

Staircase or just stairs may be a construction designed to bridge a vertical distance by dividing it into smaller vertical steps. it’s a way to transit. a thought that configures the steadiness of an area . a logo of comfort and luxury. A necessity. a bit of fashion. An exhibition of imperial power. A staircase may be a building component that showcases diverse possibilities. a posh element to unravel geometrically, it’s one among the foremost demanding design elements at a functional level.

The aim of the competition is for the participants to style a staircase, together with the client. Their two-story house has already been planned except the most staircase, which they expect to be the status symbol of the property. The intent is to style a staircase and permit it to expand beyond its function of circulating people

Prize pool of worth 24,000$

First Prize: 6000$ (For students and professionals)

Runner Up: 6 x 1400$ (For students and professionals)

People’s Choice: 4 x 600$ (Open for all)

Honorable Mention: 12 x 600$ Each
