At the most recent Cersaie, the Iris Ceramica Group presented two projects steeped in the concept of circularity, including their “Planet-Friendly Booth” – an installation that consists entirely of reusable, circular components – and “Attract”, an inventive and sustainable dry magnetic system with applications in the installation of ceramic slabs. As a renowned leader in the industry dealing with the designing, manufacturing, and distributing of top-notch ceramic products with uses covering a range of architectural projects beginning with residential and expanding into commercial and industrial projects, the company has consistently demonstrated an emphasis on innovation – extending beyond their actual products and delving into the systems they utilize for their management. The two projects discussed illustrate this commitment of theirs and serve as a potent example for other companies to follow.

Attract, a revolutionary patented solution

“Attract” is a revolutionary and sustainable dry magnetic installation system developed by Granitech – the group’s research and innovation branch. Which is designed for the ceramic slabs of the company’s brands. This modular system uses magnetized ceramic slabs that are delivered pre-installed at the construction site. Therefore, enabling the creation of a consistent, even surface either horizontally or vertically, without the need for adhesives/supporting ways. Additionally, individual ceramic slabs can be easily taken off, quickly and sustainably, without any need for demolition work.

This system represents a turning point regarding the usual process, in which the decision to purchase something new is replaced by the enlightened notion of repurposing. Ceramic slabs can be re-used to create modern walls and floors in surfaces that require frequent updates. Moreover, its magnetic base is reusable, cuttable, and re-assembleable, without losing any magnetic properties. Moreover, all elements of the system can be separately separated and managed, taking into account reuse, disposal, and recycling.

Planet-Friendly Booth, the 100% circular exhibition space

Henoto and the company have created a booth with every detail purposefully designed for maximum reuse. Their genuine adherence to “Nothing is wasted; everything is transformed” encouraged a sensible approach to resource administration. To accomplish this, attention was lavished on the materials employed. It therefore allowed for building and disassembly with barely any waste, and reduction of delivery material. They opted to omit on-site painting and cutting, as well as utilizing light yet resilient materials. Such as aluminum and fabric, positively impacting on-site builders.

To top it off, their methods delivered high-calibre results with a strong visual resonance. Composed of three essential components; the floor, walls and ceiling, Henoto’s Planet-Friendly Booth was made with the tenets of “The Neutral Way” in mind, which puts emphasis on minimizing environmental effect and utilizing production approaches that reduce emissions and promote material reuse. The walls and floor are embellished with a magnetic film, referred to as “Attract”, that equips workers with the ability to apply and take away ceramic slabs with ease.
