Have you ever been confused when using a new product and read the instruction manual several times? You may have experienced unwanted results by pressing the wrong button. Even for non-disabled people, new things are unfamiliar and difficult.
What about new things for the blind who perceive the world with touch and sound?
For the blind, you don't know how to use a new item, but you don't know what it is in your hand and whether
it's a dangerous part that you shouldn't touch. There is a fear to learn through trial and error using touch and sound.

새로운 물건을 사용할 때 헷갈려 사용 설명서를 여러 번 보며 읽었던 경험이 있나요?
잘못된 버튼을 눌러 원하지 않는 결과가 나온 경험은 있겠죠. 비장애인에게도 새로운 물건은 낯설고 어렵습니다.
촉각과 소리로 세상을 인식하는 시각장애인에게 새로운 물건은 어떨까요? 시각장애인에게 새로운 물건은 사용법 뿐만 아니라 손에 쥔 물건이 어떤 물건인지 만져선 안될 위험한 부분인지 알 수 없습니다. 촉각과 소리를 활용해 시행착오를 거치며 알아가야 할 두려움이 존재하죠.
Core Value
This convenient but dangerous toaster brings fear to the blind. BBT wanted to reduce risk factors by easily recognizing the parts that can't be touched and the parts that can be touched during the process of using the toaster even for the blind for the first time. Therefore, the core value of BBT was derived from simplicity, convenience, and connectivity.

토스트기의 주요 포인트인 촉각에 활용하여 토스트기를 사용한다는 점을 활용하여 직관적인 슬로건으로 표현하였습니다.

Perception of danger
Real products and prototypes have shown that users fear burns when they take out bread. Therefore, through a pattern protruding
40mm high from the risk of burns, the danger is intuitively recognized and the top of the baked toast can be touched to safely take it out.
실제 제품과 프로토타입을 통해 사용자가 빵을 꺼낼 때 사용자가 화상의 두려움이 있다는 것을 알 수 있었습니다. 이에 화상 위험으로부터의
40mm높이로 돌출된 패턴을 통해 직관적으로 위험 부분을 인지하고 구워진 토스트의 윗부분을 만져 안전하게 꺼낼 수 있도록 하였습니다.

세로로 빵을 넣는 토스트기의 사용 과정에서 빵의 위치를 명확히 알기 어렵다는 것을 알 수 있었고, 빵을 수평으로 놓는 방법을 채택하여 빵의 위치를 명확하게 구분했습니다. 이를 통해 인지 능력과 공간 효율성을 확보하여 불편함을 개선하였습니다.
