Colorful interiors of Trulioo’s new headquarters,
Vancouver-based design firm Edit Studios has created a new Trulioo headquarters,
encouraging the return-to-work efforts of Trulioo team members.
Located in Vancouver, Canada, the project was commissioned by Trulioo,
a world-class Canadian financial technology company.
The brief was to designate a new workplace and interior design strategy for the company’s new headquarters in Vancouver,
The 35,000-square-foot (3,252-square-meter) facility aims to boost post-pandemic return-to-work efforts.
“The challenge was to understand what might motivate people to leave the comfort of their homes to return to their offices,” said Edit Studios.
“Trulioo is a global company with offices all over the world,
and it is one of the most trusted identity verification platforms in the world,” the office added.
Design features
Spread over two floors, the new headquarters space revolves around a brightly painted monolithic staircase that features a mural dedicated to local artist and founder of Sefton Rory Doyle.
which depicts Trulioo’s first assets.
Upon entering through the reception desk,
visitors cannot help but notice the abstract topographical continents of the world written on the wall.
This piece aims to communicate Trulioo’s global reach.
“The priority was to unite all 300 employees in a collaborative, pragmatic,
and productive environment that would drive interaction and collaboration,” the studio said.
“Edit Studios used tools such as surveys and one-on-one interviews to uncover topics that underpinned the design direction for the space.”
It became clear that vocal privacy was essential. Open work environments will not work.
Employees make virtual calls daily and need more phone and small meeting rooms to conduct their work without disturbing the neighbours.
Groups of phone rooms of varying sizes divide office work points and provide a respite for concentration.
Open collaboration areas are located farther away from work points, reducing the number of outages per day.
“We’ve grown comfortable with technology being a numbers game over the past 10 years.
How many open seats can you fit in one place? During the pandemic,
we’ve seen a shift in sentiment toward more control over private space.
People want spaces with a little distraction,” said Janai Coldingness of Edit Studios.
“Trulioo’s space plan has become an exercise not in headcount,
but in optimizing the number of private spaces teams can access without reserving them,” Koldingness added.
