As Art Director on this great project I was involved at every part of production, from initial design and concept art through to logo, app icon and even marketing art. The challenge for the team was to create something dark and spooky, yet colourful and inviting to appeal to kids' sense of curiosity and exploration!
Visit the room at the top of the house to attend a… Cosmic Tea Party!
Up the winding staircase a pair of Cosmic Travellers are inviting you to share three courses of strange food, pastel rainbow tea and interstellar customs and conversation. Can you figure out how to eat these things?!
Let's all have some cosmic tea- thank you teapot bird!

Let's grow some fruit salad from another dimension! These storyboards were used to direct art but also to help the team have conversations and ideas about gameplay.
Watch how the windows change shape! This room is strange but relaxing, so you can take your time to figure out how to create your meal.

And for desert, some celestial cake cubes! This was the final course to be created by the team- it was the hardest to come up with but also the most creative in the end!
New foods and ways of doing things can seem strange at first, but they can also be fun and delightful to learn!

The way to the highest room in the house- lots of ideas for telling the story of dimensional disturbances and space-time travelling tea party hosts!
Wow, what's happening to the walls?!

Finally, some of the many, many development drawings of the cosmic visitors. It was fun to get such weird shapes into the app. In the end though, kids were intrigued and excited to interact with these beings- many referred to them as the “Salt and Pepper pots” 🙂
Thanks for watching folks, it is always appreciated 🙂 If you would like to see more of my work that is not a single project, follow me here and please say hi!
