Modern Chinese Architecture: 180 Years
12 November، 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
“Modern Chinese Architecture: 180 Years” will delve into the remarkable evolution of Chinese architecture, illustrating its shift from traditional timber-frame, single-story structures with ceramic tile roofs—created by skilled yet unnamed craftsmen—to the imposing supertall skyscrapers of today, crafted by world-renowned architects. This transformation reflects China’s journey from its roots as an imperial dynasty to becoming a modern-day republic. Architectural spaces, from historical temple markets to contemporary megamalls, and from open-air stages to stadiums, showcase the nation’s development. This transformation aligns with China’s social evolution, highlighting its advancement to 97% literacy and an urban population of over 60%.
