Chinese design firm CUN Design has completed a showroom that explores the concept of
“squareness and roundness” in interior design in Guangzhou, China.
Named whole-home RARA showroom, 312 square meters of space was envisioned for a dedicated whole-home brand.
The space shows the concept of “squareness and roundness” in Hall 3 of the exhibition hall
of the Poly World Trade Center which gives the architecture an artistic beauty and a formal beauty.
“Using the contrast between static and change to reveal the essence of architectural development. Using grand history to contextualize specific architectural phenomena.”
And using specific and deep analysis of these phenomena to echo the changes of the times.
The combination of hand-drawn lines, curved lines,
and simultaneous and asynchronous analyzes allow the reader
to experience the true meaning of architecture through a grand historical context.”
Squareness, roundness, constancy, and change
The path of heaven is round and the path of earth is square.
Between squareness and roundness, there are heaven, earth and all things.
RARA, a whole-home brand, shows
The concept of “squareness and roundness” in the exhibition hall giving the architecture an artistic beauty and a formal beauty.
The intersection of the cube and the double circular column results in
a precisely measured design texture, complementing the structure in beauty.
Design, structure and style are no longer simply based on rational geometric squares
and circles that break the traditional way of thinking in terms of architecture.
Exploring order and freedom
There is change and order, which is the principle that must be present in all works of art,
especially plastic art forms.
In terms of rotation, we are actually talking about the possibility of spatial order.
The system acts as a vehicle for specific human activities, allowing space to “come alive” and facilitate further interactions.
Compared with the overall view of the large opening and closing,
the way of square and circle arranged in the RARA hall makes the design changeable and orderly,
It allows viewers to enter and exit flexibly.
The connected structure leaves a strong sense of “lag” in the dimension of time and space,
and makes one fully participate in the immersive experience that comes from the autonomy of space.
RARA also demonstrates a possible future style of office design, such as an exhibition hall and an office.
As the boundaries between the two gradually blur,
it not only integrates the unity of function and aesthetics,
it also creates a compatible space that integrates movement and display.
Wireless, intelligent, and humanized mobile offices have begun to emerge,
enriching the possibilities for office development in the post-pandemic era.
