Home » Competitions » HEALING GARDENS – Designing Spaces for Wellness and Reflection

In a fast-paced world, the “Healing Gardens: Designing Spaces for Wellness and Reflection” competition invites architects, landscape designers, and artists to create therapeutic landscapes that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. These spaces aim to serve as sanctuaries where individuals can find solace, reconnect with nature, and engage in reflection.

Objective

This competition challenges participants to design healing gardens that transcend traditional landscaping, focusing on:

  • Wellness: Enhancing physical, mental, and emotional health through restorative environments.
  • Sustainability: Incorporating eco-friendly practices such as water conservation, native plants, and biodiversity support.
  • Aesthetic and Cultural Integration: Blending local flora, fauna, and cultural narratives into designs that resonate globally.
  • Inclusivity: Ensuring accessibility for all community members, regardless of age or ability.

Participants are encouraged to create serene, reflective spaces that foster a holistic approach to well-being, promote mindfulness, and inspire community connections. Designs should also educate visitors on the importance of nature in fostering health while supporting environmental stewardship.
