Hong Kong Architecture Micro Film Competition 2022

Architecture goes beyond the buildings themselves, making them functional public art installations that have strong impacts on both people and the environment. Our architecture is the reflection of our era, our aspirations, and our values.

Organized by HKIA, MOViE MOViE, and sponsored by Leigh & Orange Ltd, Nikon, the Architectural Micro Film Competition 2022 calls for participants to create 3-5-minute microfilms that capture and exhibit the essence and spirit of architecture in Hong Kong. Inviting local and international participants, the Open Group has no restrictions on age and nationality. Participants of the Student Group must be full-time or part-time college or university students.

Furthermore, the jury panel of the competition consists of film directors, film critics, architects, and architectural photographers. The jurors are Mr. Adam Wong (黃修平), Mr. Allen Poon (潘浩倫), Mr. Born Lo (盧國榮), Ms. Evelyn Ting (丁慧中). Also, Ms. Karin Wong (王嘉明), Mr. Tugo Cheng (鄭振揚) and with Mr. Paul Tse (謝怡邦) as the reserve juror.

Moreover, the entries will be assessed based on their relationship of the story with Hong Kong architecture, the uniqueness, and originality of the premise or story, the degree of imagination shown in the entry, its inspiration, content, plot, pacing and structure, characters, cinematography and sound quality.

Three Winning Entries and Merit Entries will be selected for both the Open and Student Groups. Winner of the Open Group will receive a cash prize of HK$50,000, a Nikon Z fc with 16-50 kit and with a Certificate. Winner of the Student Group will receive a cash prize of HK$20,000, a Nikon Z 30 with 16-50 kit and with a Certificate.
