Lancia / J-air

Albertdesign worked with Java to create their first gravel bike. In a new market but already so crowded with ultra-light carbon frames, the challenge has been to design a bike which could be different from the others. With a strong identity but with a language as clean as possible in every its intersection. A harmonious frame with a single prerogative: to convey strength but at the same time lightness and plasticity.
We followed the project step by step passing by researching, conceptualizing, prototyping, modeling, analyzing, and launch of the product to give support 360 degrees.
Exploring dozens of both sketches and quick 3D models, Albertdesign and Java cooperated together with their designers and engineers to create Lancia.

This bike seems to be made up of a skeleton inside – which gives cyclists reliability and safety in the roughest terrain – covered in turn by a thin layer of “leather” which gives it that tensy look.
