The winners of the 2023 edition of the Kyoto Global Design Awards (KGDA), with DesignWanted as one of its media partners, have been announced in celebration of outstanding design projects from around the world. An esteemed jury, comprised of architects, journalists, photographers, and creative directors from diverse backgrounds. Thoroughly assessed all 680 entries before choosing the most groundbreaking designs.

Acclamation filled the air during the award ceremony, highlighting the brilliance of work built on functional ingenuity, adventurous style, innovative architectural structures, and splendid detailing. The core values of KGDA focuses on Sustainable Design, encompassing lessening, reusing, and refurbishing, signifying its dedication to safeguarding the environment and establishing a fresh relationship with the natural world. Representing more than 45 countries, this year’s KGDA awardees exhibit the world-wide reach and excellence of the global design industry.

This year’s Kyoto Global Design Awards (KGDA) focused its attention on “Sustainability” to honor those exemplary designers. Those who vastly committed to such principles and who embraced the circular economy entirely.

Numerous prestigious awards were presented to noteworthy individuals such as Sou Fujimoto, a renowned Japanese architect, Dutch firm MVRDV. Moroever, American SOM, Brazilian Studio MK27, Danish 3XN Architects and SLA, plus other impressive entities. Like Singaporean BLINK Group, Danish Norm Architects, Greek A.S. Strategy, and Italian Pedevilla Architects and Mask Architects.

The 2023 awards ceremony, to be held at the Ace Hotel in Kyoto will celebrate the feats of distinguished eco-designs. Such as Grey Colombia’s Life Extending Stickers, Plasticity’s Sabi, NOWN’s InfiKnitTM, and A-01’s No Footprint House (NFH). These works, among other conscious designs, show a commitment to sustainable and recyclable materials. This awards ceremony serves as much more than a mere way to express gratitude and appreciation for award-winning designs.
