The LAKE HOUSE International Architecture Competition invites architects and architecture students worldwide to conceptualize a Mountain Club House that serves as a Coffee Shop and Spa for athletes seeking a relaxing space before continuing their journey to the Alps.

The proposed Mountain Club House will be situated opposite Lake St. Moritz, a world-renowned valley famous for its breathtaking scenery and status as the cradle of winter tourism. The lake is a major attraction in St. Moritz and is easily accessible from the city center and the train station.

Submission Details

Participants must submit:

  • Concept boards showcasing their design vision and spatial strategies.
  • Detailed architectural drawings (plans, sections, elevations, etc.).
  • 3D renderings to illustrate the project’s integration with its surroundings.
  • A design statement explaining the concept, materials, and approach.

  • Concept & Innovation (30%) – Originality of the design and its relevance to the competition theme.
  • Integration with Nature (25%) – How well the project blends with the environment and complements Lake St. Moritz.
  • Functionality & Spatial Quality (25%) – Effectiveness in serving as a Club House, Coffee Shop, and Spa.
  • Presentation & Visual Impact (20%) – Clarity and strength of visual communication in the submission.
