The 2024 edition of the Young Moroccan Architecture Awards (YMAA) has officially launched, setting the stage to celebrate the innovation and creativity of young architects in Morocco. This prestigious event, initiated on February 29, 2024, is dedicated to recognizing the outstanding achievements of Moroccan architects under the age of 45.
Awards and Jury for the YMAA 2024 Edition
The selection process for the awards will be overseen by a distinguished jury of both national and international architects, with Mohamed Fikri Benabdallah serving as the jury president and Odile Decq, a leading French architect, as the guest of honor. The jury includes notable figures such as Rachid Andaloussi, Débora Giorgi, Maria El Glaoui, Karim Hendili, Driss Kettani, Youssef Melehi, Aziz Mennane, and Fayçal Sentissi. These experts will evaluate submissions across 16 categories, along with three special distinctions.

Nominees will be announced during a major event on October 10 at the Sacré-Coeur Church in Casablanca. This evening will also feature a tribute to the late Fouad Akalay, the visionary founder of YMAA. The final awards ceremony is scheduled for December 12, 2024, where the winners will be honored in the presence of prominent figures from the architecture, arts, and culture sectors.
