Launching a development project in the center of Jeddah with huge investments,

The Saudi Crown Prince, “Mohammed bin Salman”,

gave the signal to start implementing the main development project in downtown Jeddah.

The launch of the general plan for the downtown Jeddah project comes within the framework of the Crown Prince’s interest in developing all regions and cities of the Kingdom,

and in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The project aims to create a global vision and a destination

in the heart of Jeddah with direct views of the Red Sea, which contributes to enhancing the economic position of the city of Jeddah.

This project was previously called “New Jeddah Downtown”, and aims to develop 5.7 million square meters,

with a total investment of 75 billion Saudi riyals, equivalent to (19.98 billion dollars).

The project will be implemented by the Public Investment Fund’s Development Center in Jeddah in three phases,

while the first phase will be completed by the end of 2027.

Then, downtown Jeddah will begin to receive residents and visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom.

The project will be financed by the Public Investment Fund as well as investors from inside and outside the Kingdom.

The developing company is currently working with all relevant authorities to ensure the implementation of all stages according to the approved time plan.

The “Jeddah Center” project aims economically to achieve an added value of 47 billion riyals to the Kingdom’s economy by 2030.

 Four major international landmarks

The project will include four major international landmarks:

an opera house, a museum, a sports stadium, ocean basins and coral farms.

It will also contain more than 10 entertainment and tourism projects.

The operational works of the project will pave the way for the local private sector to participate in the development and operation of promising economic sectors,

such as tourism, sports, culture and entertainment, with international standards.

The project will also include a world-class marina and beach resorts,

all this in addition to a wide range of local and international luxury hotels, restaurants and cafes,

and a variety of shopping options.

In addition to other sectors including construction and development,

from modern residential areas that include 17,000 housing units with various hotel projects, providing more than 2,700 rooms.

Downtown Jeddah also aims to provide integrated solutions to the business sector,

and more than 500 engineers and consultants were involved in the design of the masterplan, representing five of the best think-tanks in the world.

The project has many natural features, including the waterfront with a water strip of 9.5 km in length.

It contains a marina with international specifications ready to receive yachts from inside

and outside the Kingdom, as well as a 2.1 km long sandy beach.

Green and open spaces and public services will constitute 40% of the project area.

Modern designs of the project have been adopted according to international standards,

taking care to apply the elements and components of the urban fabric inspired by the original Hijazi architecture.

This is taking into account the application of the latest global technologies,

so that it becomes a “smart destination”, which depends on innovative technologies,

in addition to adopting the use of the best sustainability technologies, including renewable energy.

This will contribute to supporting environmental sustainability in line with the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative
