Launching the “Creative District” in Riyadh to bridge the gap between culture and creativity
The Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City announced the launch of the “Creative District” project, which aims to become a leading creative and media center in the region, contributing to supporting the creative economy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This project comes within the efforts aimed at enhancing cooperation between local and international talents, localizing the creative content industry, and increasing the contribution of the creative sector to the gross domestic product.
Project objectives
- Supporting the creative economy:
The project aims to enhance the role of the creative sector in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, by increasing its contribution to the gross domestic product.
It seeks to localize the local content industry and support young Saudi talents.
- Enhancing local and international cooperation:
The project will provide a platform for cooperation between creators from various sectors, including media, arts, design, and technology.
Co-working spaces and specialized facilities will be established to support startups and creators.
- Stimulating innovation and cultural exchange:
Cultural and creative events will be organized to stimulate intellectual and cultural exchange between local and international talents.
The project will contribute to making Riyadh an attractive center for creativity and innovation at the regional level.
Project Details
- Location and First Phase:
The first phase of the project will be implemented in King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), one of the most prominent financial centers in Riyadh.
The project is strategically located in Al Yasmeen District, near King Salman Road.
- Spaces and Facilities:
The creative district will include co-working spaces, production studios, exhibition halls, and training centers.
Large spaces will be allocated for cultural events and art exhibitions.
- Economic Impact:
The project is expected to contribute to creating thousands of new jobs for Saudi youth.
The necessary support will be provided to emerging creative companies to ensure their growth and prosperity.

The CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Eng. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, for the great support that the Commission’s projects receive.

Cooperation Agreement with King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD)
An agreement was signed between the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), whereby the center will host the first phase of the project.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between creators from various sectors, and create new opportunities for innovation and economic growth.

The project contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, by establishing a creative work environment that attracts Saudi and international talents.
