His Excellency the Mayor of the Holy Capital, Musaed bin Abdulaziz Al-Daoud, inaugurated the Mayan Yard Mall in the Al-Sharai’i District of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, in the presence of a number of officials, businessmen, and media professionals.
Mayan Yard is a distinguished addition to Makkah’s shopping and entertainment sector, offering an integrated experience combining the latest stores, restaurants, and cafes in a modern, upscale environment.

The mall features a modern design and strategic location in the Al-Sharai’i District, making it an ideal destination for residents and visitors seeking a comprehensive shopping experience.
Mayan Yard houses a wide range of international and local brands, along with family-friendly spaces and entertainment areas that cater to the aspirations of visitors of all ages.
The total area of the complex is approximately 19,465 square meters, with a leasable area of 8,383 square meters, a boulevard area with signage spanning 4,300 square meters, in addition to 161 parking spaces and a green park.

During the opening, His Excellency Musaed Al-Daoud emphasized that “Mayan Yard” represents a model for modern projects that contribute to the development of the commercial and entertainment environment in the Holy Capital. He emphasized the importance of supporting quality investments that meet the needs of the community and keep pace with urban and economic developments in the Kingdom.
This project aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to strengthen the tourism and retail sectors and stimulate investment in commercial and entertainment projects.

The Story of Handicrafts at Mayan Yard
In an atmosphere fragrant with authentic Saudi heritage, the Heritage Commission is participating in the inauguration of Mayan Yard in Makkah by activating a group of handicraft pavilions. This is part of the Year of Handicrafts 2025 initiatives, launched by the Commission to celebrate craftsmen and the history of traditional industries in the Kingdom.
The event will run for five days, from March 24 to 28, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Visitors will enjoy a live demonstration of a number of traditional crafts, including:
- Glass engraving and painting
- Pottery
- Candle and soap making
- Rosary making
- Woodwork
This event aims to highlight the identity of Saudi handicrafts, enhance their presence in community awareness, and provide interactive platforms that support artisans and tell the story of Saudi heritage with a touch of creativity and skill.
