Brick and block sizes vary by country, manufacturer and construction system. No single set of dimensions applies to every project.
Reading dimensions
Actual unit size differs from a nominal coordinating size, which may include a joint allowance. Check the product catalogue and mortar or adhesive detail before calculating unit counts or wall dimensions.
Choosing a unit
Compare loading, insulation, exposure and installation requirements against product data and the approved design. Size alone does not establish compressive strength or thermal performance. Calculate openings, joints and waste from the drawings rather than treating a local example as a universal standard.
