Measurements and specifications of bricks and blocks in construction
Bricks are rectangular (cubic) blocks and are usually made of clay. Bricks are small, cheap, and relatively easy to work with.
Brick is used as a substitute for stone, which is more expensive and difficult to work with.
There are also many brick alternatives available in the market these days, such as aerated concrete blocks, concrete blocks, etc.
The bricks are laid in a particular manner so that the required thickness and shape of the building element can be built up. It is known as a bond brick. The joints are filled with a cement-sand mortar.
Bricks are used to build building structures and building elements such as walls. Bricks are durable and can be very strong in compression. Using bricks, it is also possible to build structures of complex shape.

Why does a brick have a standard size?

According to their building codes and standards, all countries have standardized fixed brick size, and bricks are manufactured in standard sizes to improve workability.
In order for the mason to lift them up easily and put them in the proper position, for large size bricks, it will be difficult to burn them properly.
If the brick size is too small, the number of bricks required will be more and it will be difficult to produce a large amount of bricks every day.
Therefore, because of these reasons, the standard size is determined by the building standards of each country.
Let’s look at the standard sizes of bricks in different countries.
