UN-Habitat’s “Inclusive Communities, Thriving Cities” Programme invites professional and emerging artists worldwide to participate in a digital art competition on the theme “My Urban Vision.” This competition seeks to leverage the creative power of artists to inspire change towards an inclusive and sustainable urban future. Participation is free, and the submission deadline is July 31, 2024.

Competition Theme: My Urban Vision

Under the theme “My Urban Vision,” participants are invited to submit digitally created artwork that reflects their vision for an inclusive and sustainable urban future. The competition is categorized into three themes:

Inclusive and Sustainable Communities: Artists are encouraged to depict vibrant urban spaces where diversity is celebrated, illustrating green spaces, social cohesion, and the right to the city. The artwork should express the social, environmental, cultural, and economic aspects of an inclusive and sustainable community.

Climate Resilience in Urban Areas: This category focuses on how nature-based solutions can enhance cities’ ability to adapt to climate change and mitigate its effects. The artwork should illustrate the social, environmental, cultural, and economic benefits of climate-resilient cities.

Adequate Housing and Services for All: Participants are to showcase how affordable and adequate housing and services can promote neighborhood diversity, social mix, vibrancy, a sense of community, and belonging. The artwork should highlight the social, environmental, cultural, and economic benefits of a well-served neighborhood with diverse housing types.
