The National Association of Students of Architecture India (NASA India), in collaboration with the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA), is thrilled to announce the Mohammed Shaheer Landscape Trophy for the 67th Year (2024-25). This prestigious competition challenges students to redefine everyday spaces through innovative landscape design.

Design Challenge

The 2024 competition focuses on designing a two-mile linear park that integrates nature with urban living. Participants are invited to explore the potential of linear parks as inclusive green spaces that foster recreation, community engagement, and environmental sustainability. These landscapes can transform urban areas by repurposing existing infrastructure, enhancing social bonds, and promoting accessibility.

Key Aspects to Consider

  • Natural and Manicured Landscapes: Address the balance between natural beauty and functional, user-specific needs.
  • Public vs. Linear Parks: Evaluate the limitations of traditional public parks and the advantages of linear parks in creating inclusive spaces.
  • Urban Transformation: Focus on how linear parks can contribute to city life and sustainability through nature-based solutions.

This competition provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate architecture students to showcase their creativity and contribute to enhancing urban environments.
