With their size and texture encouraging one to sit and lie down on them, making one feel like a giant floating above the landscape, I created these rugs to perfectly fit into our daily lives, says Alvaro Catalán de Ocón.

Furthermore, this inventive collection includes four different models with formats skilfully suited to the geographical characteristics of each river. From the Yangtze to the Indus, the Ganges, and the Niger. They portray accurate renditions of aerial pictures of some of the planet’s most polluted rivers.

The delicate textile work by GAN’s team of regional artisans in workshops in India. And it is much more than just a smart protest design.

Moreover, to masterfully recreate aerial Google Earth panoramas of the highlighted rivers, these remarkable products are pixel by pixel.

Additionally, the carpets have no knots using the hand-tufted method, and the yarn is from recycled PET plastic bottles.

Finally, the Plastic River No.6 Ganges rug’s eclectic, one-of-a-kind composition is made all the more unique by the discarded materials that were gathered from the area surrounding the river it depicts.
