Al-Wajh Airport renovation project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,

The Red Sea International Company announced its first steps in the Al-Wajh Airport development project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It confirmed that it will develop the airport, in addition to modernizing the current terminal and infrastructure,
in order to facilitate the ambitious sustainable travel industry in the Kingdom.
As part of the renovation, The Red Sea Company will build an international terminal,
allowing the airport to offer more direct flights,
Which will lead to increased travel connectivity and local employment opportunities.

In addition, this initiative will enable Al-Wajh Airport to serve major developments in the region.
This includes becoming a gateway to luxury destinations such as Amaala, which the Red Sea Company is also developing.
In addition, the revitalization of the airport will make it a future operational hub for FlyRed Sea, the Kingdom’s first seaplane company.
In conjunction with the project start date, four flights operated by the Saudi national carrier will be transferred from Al-Wajh Airport to the developer’s Red Sea International Airport starting October 29.
The airport renovation comes amid a growing list of aviation projects under the Red Sea Company’s leadership.

Features of project development

The development focuses on modernizing the airport to comply with international standards, in addition to modernizing the existing terminal and infrastructure.
The Red Sea Company is also building a new international terminal, the designs of which will be revealed soon.
This will result in Al-Wajh Airport being prepared to provide more direct flights.
Which leads to increased connectivity and employment opportunities for local people.
Al-Wajh Airport Company (EJH) will also be able to better serve the major developments taking place in the region,
Including becoming a gateway to the destination Amaala, also developed by Red Sea International.
The airport will also become a new base for operations of FlyRed Sea, the first seaplane company in the Kingdom.

This development joins a growing list of the group’s aviation projects.
The Red Sea Company is also developing a second private airport near the Red Sea and Amaala destinations.
As part of the ongoing modernization work at EJH, four Saudia-operated flights will be transferred from EJH to RSI.

 

Amala’s destination

When completed in 2030, Amala will feature 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland locations.
The destination will also include luxury marinas, golf courses, leisure facilities, food, beverage and entertainment facilities.
