Revealing the most prominent points of the Sustainable Design Summit in China 2023,
The China Sustainable Design Summit revealed the highlights of its upcoming event,
dubbed “A must-visit event for designers, architects, developers and decision-makers looking to design a sustainable future.”
The 2023 China Sustainable Design Summit will be held at the Beijing Exhibition Center from September 21 to 23, 2023.
The event was previously known as Design China Beijing and was rebranded in 2022.
After its successful launch last year, the event returns this year with new changes and key themes.
Focusing on the enduring nature of sustainability through innovative,
nature-positive solutions and material uses for the built environment.
China’s sustainable design summit
And by expanding its exhibition space this year, the Sustainable Design Summit in China will also feature a must-visit mix of exhibitors,
who showcase sustainable products and materials, technology and other innovative solutions as well as specially curated formulations and features.
The event will address circular renewal strategies and groundbreaking design concepts that perform well to ensure true and sustainable innovation.
Summit organizers expect a total attendance of 3,500 people and more than 10,000 visitors to the exhibition this year for groundbreaking talks and workshops.

local and national government professionals as well as development and education professionals.
Designing a sustainable future and circular design matters
The summit will focus on six main topics over the three days.
On September 21, on the first day, discussions will be held under the theme “Designing a Sustainable Future and Circular Design Issues”.
The first day will open with the theme “Designing a Sustainable Future” including an opening session by Oriana Fielding,
Senior Sustainability Consultant at the China Sustainable Design Summit as well as a session on ‘Sponge Cities’ featuring Alan Chang, CEO of Shui On Xintiandi Limited.
and another on the theme “Biodiversity for Positive Design for Nature” where Mario Cucinella,
Founder and Creative Director of Mario Cucinella Architects, will speak.
Sessions that afternoon focus on the topic of “Circular Design Matters”
and include discussions on “Circular Economy Promotes Carbon Peaking in Carbon Neutrality” with Zhu Dajian,
Distinguished Professor at the College of Economics and Administration,
and Director of the Institute of Governance for Sustainable Development.
