The development of the Al Ramal Sports Park, which is part of the largest sports track project in the Middle East, has witnessed significant progress in recent months.

The features of the extensive afforestation and unique desert landscape are now evident, in addition to pedestrian and bicycle paths that extend across vast areas of the park.

This development comes in line with the goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to enhance the quality of life and support local tourism.

Details of the progress of the work

Afforestation works:

More than 10,000 local trees and shrubs adapted to the desert environment, such as tamarisk and tamarisk trees, have been planted, reflecting the project’s interest in environmental sustainability.

Green spaces have been created using advanced irrigation techniques based on water conservation systems, which reduces the consumption of water resources.

Desert landscape:

The landscape has been designed to reflect the desert character with the addition of modern touches, such as harmonious sand dunes and artistic sculptures inspired by Saudi heritage.

Solar-powered aesthetic lighting has been installed, enhancing the aesthetics of the place and reducing the carbon footprint.

Pedestrian and bicycle paths:

A network of sports paths has been created with a total length of 15 kilometers, including:

10-kilometer walking paths.

5-kilometer bicycle paths.

The paths are equipped with solar-powered night lighting, making them environmentally friendly and safe to use at night.

Facilities and services:

Rest areas: Shaded seats and comfortable seating areas have been provided.

Fountains and artificial lakes: Aesthetic fountains and small lakes have been created to reflect the beauty of nature.

Smart services: Charging points for phones, a wireless Internet network, and a smart application have been provided to facilitate movement within the park.

Park area: 500,000 square meters.

Number of trees planted: More than 10,000 trees.

Path length: 15 kilometers (10 kilometers for walking and 5 kilometers for cycling).

Investments: The total cost of the project is estimated at around 150 million Saudi riyals.
