Sustainable, Healthy Cities

ECA has a strong connection with the Venice Biennale of Architecture. This year’s theme will be the “Laboratory of the Future” with a focus on Africa, decarbonization, climate justice, and architecture’s ability to negotiate between and across boundaries in a world that is beginning the feel the effects of climate change.

Sustainability will be integral to all future proposals in architecture. Early-year professionals and students will need to build it into the heart of their practice. In response, ECA is offering a scholarship in 2023 to participants presenting the best project ideas for our “Sustainability Competition”. The prize is a full scholarship for our “Sustainable Healthy Cities: building for the future” course taking place in Venice on June 19-30, 2023. The course is created in collaboration with Kellogg College, the University of Oxford, and The Prince’s Foundation.
