Offering 21-square-miles of sandstone bedrock, 150 miles of shoreline, and beautiful vistas, Sydney Cottage harbor is one of the most stunning in the entire world. Carter Williamson Architects recently completed the 5,400-square-foot addition to the 2,150-square-foot. 19th-century cottage, adding an abundance of sophistication and grandeur to the family residence. During the restoration efforts, the sandstone blockwork of the cottage was repointed and its slate roof replaced. The architects also did reverse the kitchen of the cottage into the bedroom it once was. The new extension includes a roof deck, three levels, a swimming pool terrace, and a small jetty.

Enthusiastic and expansive, the structure has been cut down 7 feet from the waterline, and the canyon-style cleft running through the middle of the building splits the front facade into two wings which reach out towards the harbor.
