Technician

Applications are invited for an exciting technician role within the Faculty of Engineering and Environment Technical Support Team, supporting the teaching and research activities across the Departments of Mechanical and Construction Engineering and Architecture and the Built Environment.

Working as part of an integrated technical support team, the primary role of this post is to contribute to the technical support for all staff and students in the MCE/ABE laboratories and technical spaces. As a technician the role holder will work within the technical team to support timetabled teaching activities that occur throughout the academic year, as well as actively and enthusiastically engaging with projects being conducted by undergraduate and post graduate students, as well as research staff. The role holder will need to engage with laboratory users with confidence, in a helpful and collaborative style. The championing of an excellent health and safety culture is essential for this role and they will promote a positive attitude of continuous improvement and good practice in our technical spaces. The post holder is expected to work well independently and as part of a team, providing flexible support to the Faculty.
