The choice of zigzag ceiling defines the character of the Olympic Spa By NOA Hotel in an alpine meadow,
Bolzano and Berlin-based architecture studio NOA have completed a spa hotel in Val di Fassa, northern Italy.
With a zigzag roof that simulates the mountain appearance.
Named Olympic Spa, the 1,160 square meter building is a new extension that defines a sustainable paradigm.
while also aiming to enhance and blend the facilities with the surrounding landscape.
The new hotel complex consists of 10 new guest suites, a gym and sauna in a separate wooden building.
From the new rooms set in an alpine meadow,
with terraces and interior patios, to the amazing saunas overlooking the forest,
which can be accessed by skyway, this new project conceals,
It plays with the appearance of the mountains and gives guests feelings of sincere connection with nature.
The architecture grid, inspired by the surrounding nature and mountains, added
New spaces and functions to a mountain hotel without affecting the harmony with the landscape.

As confirmed by the company, the new building creates a better integration with the surrounding areas:
This is the guiding idea for the NOA-realized Olympic Spa Hotel project,
for the Pellegrin family who have been running the hospitality business since 1963.
The plan to extend the existing building with a new extension and sauna was an opportunity to define a model of a “simulated” and sustainable intervention,
Which will allow the hotel to grow and provide its guests with
a more exciting immersion in the beautiful scenery of the Dolomites.
NOA’s primary goal for this project was to shift the hotel’s center of gravity from County Road,
which most rooms hitherto overlooked, to the slope behind it, which slowly recedes,
turning into a forest, until it reaches the stream of Avisio.
Thus, the project envisioned building 10 new rooms along the slope,
partially buried and connected to the hotel by an underground passage.
The sauna, on the other hand, is a separate wooden building, located on the edge of the forest.
On an elevated site facing the treetops and accessible via an atmospheric skyway.
