Integrated planning to serve citizens
The Saudi capital, Riyadh, is witnessing remarkable progress in the Eastern Administrative Center project, which is located in the Al-Muaizilah neighborhood east of Riyadh, next to the King Fahd Sports City station.

This project is a major initiative aimed at enhancing the administrative infrastructure and providing integrated government services to citizens in the eastern part of the capital.
According to official sources from the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the center consists of several administrative buildings that are scheduled to host more than 50 government and service agencies.
Project figures and details
A report by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City stated that the Eastern Administrative Center extends over a total area of 220,000 square meters, of which 150,000 square meters are allocated to administrative buildings and infrastructure, 40,000 square meters for parking lots and public facilities, and 30,000 square meters for green spaces.
The center is expected to accommodate about 10,000 employees, with parking spaces for more than 3,500 vehicles. Data from the Riyadh Region Municipality also highlighted the use of smart systems for managing energy and resources in buildings.

Final Preparations and Sustainability
Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Otaibi, Project Manager, confirmed that the final preparations include installing advanced air conditioning systems and high-speed communications networks, with a focus on sustainability through environmentally friendly technologies.
He pointed out that the project has exceeded 85% completion and is expected to open before the end of 2025.
Future Vision
The project is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to develop cities and enhance the quality of life. It is estimated that it will serve more than 500,000 citizens in the eastern neighborhoods of Riyadh.
This comes amid significant population growth, as the Saudi census in 2022 recorded about 8.59 million people in the Riyadh region, according to Wikipedia. Thus, the eastern administrative center enhances Riyadh’s position as an advanced city globally.

“The Eastern Administrative Center project in Al-Muaizilah district in eastern Riyadh represents a qualitative shift in the Kingdom’s administrative infrastructure. Thanks to its strategic location near King Fahd Sports City station and its advanced facilities, the project will contribute to improving the efficiency of government services and reducing congestion in existing administrative centers. According to estimates by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the project will provide an advanced work environment for thousands of government employees and will contribute to creating new job opportunities, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 in enhancing the efficiency of the public sector and attracting investments.”
