Tiles by Kay van den Aker, Oscar Olsson, Emile Chuffart, and Tobias Ertel allows one to experience music uniquely.

Kay van den Aker, Oscar Olsson, Emile Chuffart, and Tobias Ertel bring to life a music player called ‘Tiles’. It’s fostering a more engaging listening experience by reinstating the tension of playing analog music with a hands-on prototyping approach. According to the team, “Tiles seeks to connect people to one other and their digital music library.”

“We wanted to see how a physical interface combined with fake noises could convey the concept of music listening as the sophisticated and sociable process it was meant to be,” they explain.

Additionally, the top of this minimalistic lifestyle product with smart technology is in two parts; the top displays the user’s highly personal and beloved music library, providing a clear view of the beautiful art covers; moreover, the bottom displays the user’s highly personal music library, offering a clear view of the beautiful art covers.

Furthermore, the lower section is the real player, where you mechanically insert a song from the top. Also, it’s where you can find information about the current album on the E-Ink screen to the left.

In fact, users can adjust the volume or perform other playback settings with the right-hand dial.
Finally, they added, “Further, when scrolling through the collection, one can simply filter between a song, album, artist, and playlist with the help of other buttons on the upper right corner”.
