Usine C
Usine C, which used to be a jam factory in the Centre-Sud district of Montreal, was transformed in 1995 into a national and international creation and presentation center. It includes two performance spaces of 440 and 120 seats, a rehearsal studio, an exhibition hall and a café. During its renovation, 25 years later, our studio was chosen to simplify the circulation of spectators and artists, and thus improve the understanding and experience of the space. The elements in the signage system offer a unified vision and are naturally consistent with the identity of the Factory. We wanted them to be singular and recognizable, but above all, functional and effective. Respecting the architectural approach adopted, we designed a signage that is contrasting but sober in its execution, managing to enrich both the space and the lives of those who interact with it.
