Young Masters Art Prize 2023 is now open for entries!

Young Masters Art Prize 2023: The Call for Artists for the sixth edition of the Young Masters Art Prize is now open inviting artists from anywhere in the world, working in any media to applay.

About Competition

The 6th edition of Young Masters Art Prize has been recently opened for entries inviting artists from anywhere in the world, working in any media to applay.

This unique initiative encourages emerging and mid-career contemporary artists to look back to the art of the past for inspiration. Young Masters recognises and showcases artists who show originality, skill and imagination in response to art history.

For artists working in Ceramics there is a dedicated Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize, which runs concurrently with the Young Masters Art Prize.

Up to 15 artists will be shortlisted for the Young Masters Art Prize, and up to 10 ceramicists will be shortlisted for the Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize. All shortlisted artists will feature in an exhibition in two parts, at 67 York Street in central London coinciding with Frieze week in October 2023.

Eligibility

Young Masters Art Prize 2023 is o pen worldwide to artists working in any media.

Prize

Prizes for the Young Masters Art Prize include an Overall Award of £1,500, and two Highly Commended prizes of £500 each, awarded by the Artists Collecting Society.

The Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize has an Overall Award of £1,000 and a Highly Commended prize of £500, generously given by James and Maylis Grand.

For a third edition, Dr Chris Blatchley awards the Emerging Woman Artist Award of £1,000, along with mentoring, career advice and inclusion in an upcoming Art Fair with The Cynthia Corbett Gallery. Brownhill Insurance Group also support the People’s Choice Award with a £500 prize.

Two shortlisted artists working within the expanded field of craft will receive the new Cockpit Prize from Cockpit, including four sessions with a Cockpit business coach, and participation in the Make It Count programme.

Entry fees

Entry fee is £38 to submit two works.
