zmianatematu. Coffee Table

During the conceptual phase of the design for the zmianatematu. club and cafeteria in Lodz, we decided to invent the coffee tables to enhance the project. They served as a kind of mock-up to allow us to practice how to use new technology. The result was beyond our expectations. We created three coffee tables dedicated for the cafeteria at ul. Piotrkowska 144.

The twisted plane is the result of creating two-dimensional maps of altitude, where the third dimension was given by extruding it in the Rhino program. Using this technique, it allows you to create any twisted plane, which is the basis for obtaining the shape of the table. The plane was then divided into segments, using a modified algorithm (Grasshopper), which was originally used to generate profiles for the interior.

Generated profiles were cut using the CNC milling machine by the company meble.pl based in Rzeszow. Elements are made of spruce plywood, so that there was no need to use any binder. The design of the twisted grate jams on its own parts and the rigidity is maintained by a plane of tempered glass.
