2025 National Design-Build Student Competition
Overview
The 2025 National Design-Build Student Competition, organized by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), invites student teams from colleges and universities across the United States to simulate real-world design-build practices. This annual, three-phase event challenges students to demonstrate design, construction, and project management skills through a mock Request for Qualifications (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP), and a final presentation to industry experts. The culminating event will take place during the 2025 Design-Build Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, in November.
Building upon the previous year’s airport expansion concept, the 2025 competition focuses on completing the terminal by adding new gates and concessions using the Progressive Design-Build (PDB) model. The scenario challenges teams to refine their collaborative processes and innovation strategies in a simulated, high-stakes environment.
