For Offecct, Jean-Marie Massaud creates the Airberg sofa line, which features a flexible cushion material as the structural casing.

French designer Jean-Marie Massaud creates “Airberg” for Offecct. It’s a unique couch set with a structural container that appears to be filled with vacuum but is made of flexible padding material. Airberg is an innovative object that defies convention.

With his talent for flawlessly fusing elegance and comfort, Massaud has been wonderfully designing a wide range of projects, from architecture to products, macro environments down to micro situations.

He expertly employs a holistic approach that interestingly captures the zeitgeist through an awareness of his surroundings.

Offecct is a Swedish design firm with an aesthetic that creates distinctive furniture for stimulating gathering places in one’s home/office.

Moreover, they experiment with new materials and techniques using strategies that are environmentally and societally sustainable to achieve a seamless fusion of functionality and beauty.

According to Massaud, the form of the Airberg had its inspiration from both an iceberg packed with a vacuum and a cozy, inviting sitting product that embodies lightness.

The level of craftsmanship used in the fabrication allows for the creation of deconstructed furniture with more obvious asymmetry.

‎The abstract form of this eclectic object is light in expression and contemporary in its design and the technology used. It simply exudes comfort while being sustainable.
