Updates on engineering and architecture jobs available around the world

Lancaster University is seeking to appoint Lecturer/s in Architecture to join our world-leading research centre and a team of dedicated staff delivering our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The Lancaster School of Architecture currently focuses on three major concerns – future practice, digital craft and the climate emergency – amongst a constellation of other interests. Situated in the North-West of England and surrounded by unique landscapes, our studio design projects and our research use these special habitats to further the practice of architecture in rapidly changing professional and ecological circumstances. Morecambe Bay, the Lake District and the Trough of Bowland are all locations within which we work. We are establishing partnerships with organisations across the region that share our vision for social and environmental sustainability. The campus at Lancaster also provides wonderful opportunities for outdoor learning and live building amongst its woodlands and open space. These landscapes, habitats and concerns characterise the emergent identity of the School.

The School is in its third year of operation and seeks to expand to accommodate growing student numbers. Based within the Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA), it is associated with the world-leading Imagination research centre, which has a strong track record of innovative research around the built environment. The new lecturer(s) will contribute to the academic delivery of, and recruitment to, the Part I (BA Architecture), Part II (MArch), and PhD programmes, contribute to the growth of our architectural research and engagement portfolio, and promote research-led teaching. We are seeking candidates with expertise in the teaching of Professional Practice, Sustainable Architectural Technologies, or Digital Design Skills who are also capable in leading design modules.

Lancaster University is highly ranked for its research and gold-rated for teaching. LICA is a multi-disciplinary department whose research engages design and the creative arts with science and technology, together with a strong concern for community and sustainability. It is ranked within the top 100 globally for Art & Design.

As a top UK University, Lancaster provides exceptional support for research and teaching, including excellent facilities, a scheme of sabbatical leave, and interdisciplinary research networks.
