The School of Engineering and Built Environment has seen a period of exceptional growth and success in recruiting students to Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes and is seeking to appoint two qualified academics/practitioners with proven teaching and research experience to contribute to and support the delivery of our programmes within Construction/Built Environment portfolio. This post will be on the Senior Lecturer scale, and we are looking for people with a teaching interest in: 

  1. Construction Economics
  2. Management and Economics of the Built Environment
  3. Commercial Management
  4. Real Estate Development and Investment
  5. Development Economics and Planning

Successful candidates will take an important role in the development and delivery of teaching and research in various aspects of the subject area. All applicants must have a strong research profile, the potential to develop an internationally recognised research program, excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Indeed, we wish to invite applications from a broad range of candidates with different skill sets. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a PhD and who combine excellence in teaching with capacity to conduct novel, interdisciplinary engineering research that will expand and complement the School of Engineering and Built Environment’s research strengths to build on the recent university’s success in the 2021 REF exercise. 

Candidate with extensive industrial experience who do not currently hold a higher degree will be considered.
