Architecture at Zero is an international design competition aimed at promoting sustainable design through decarbonization, equity, and resilience. Open to students and professionals from architecture, design, engineering, and planning fields, this competition engages participants in creating innovative and sustainable design solutions.

2024 Competition Challenge: Participants are tasked with designing a new building on the Griffith STEAM Magnet Middle School campus in East Los Angeles (East LA), California. The new building will replace existing relocatable classrooms and include:

  • Science Labs
  • Art Classroom
  • Maker Space
  • Outdoor Learning Environments
  • Teacher Workroom
