The Order of Architects in Romania (OAR), in collaboration with the Cluj County Council, officially launched the International Design Competition for the Children’s Hospital in Cluj-Napoca in February 2021.The competition aimed to select the best design for a pediatric emergency hospital in the southeast of Cluj-Napoca, at the border of the Gheorgheni and Borhanci neighborhoods. Project Vision

The Cluj-Napoca Emergency Clinical Children’s Hospital is envisioned as an independent facility with regional reach, serving as the primary public hospital in Transylvania for comprehensive pediatric healthcare services.The contracting authority also sought to establish a center for pediatric medical services and research, which would function as an urban catalyst in a neighborhood undergoing development

  • Type: Public, single-stage competition
  • Eligibility: Open to participants from Romania, all European Union countries, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation
  • Launch Date: 12 February 2021
  • Submission Deadline: 4 June 2021, 16:00 Romanian time
  • Jury Evaluation: 13–17 June 2021
