Mexican Rea Architectural Studio has completed a residency in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico.

An urban façade that the architects had the opportunity to create over a period of three years completes this house.

This showcase is made up of four projects by the studio.

As this is the latter oriented towards the western axis of the development’s central block,

The studio was interested in using a warmer color scheme and more enclosed volume than the rest of the house as an exercise in getting a different effect on three other adjacent homes.

Design features

A project without specific users at the moment of design, but with a clear goal,

Therefore, the architects started to implement strategies

with homogeneous positions regarding the domestic and international market,

Due to its location in one of the most attractive areas in Mexico for real estate investment in recent years.

In our view, this proposal acts as a ready-made blank canvas for design.

A design exercise that allowed us to reinterpret the same architectural program four times,

and endorse it in architecture: “changing the order of factors changes the product.”

Quiet façade that shows little of what’s going on inside, building techniques dominated by local workers,

a social area without program boundaries adapted to the needs of the people who live there,

And a series of double heights and the constant promotion of coexistence among the population.

From the beginning of the operation, we had a quote from Alejandro de la Sota:

To give more than what the market expected.

To be simple, logical, and practical in all our decisions,

and to display architectural plans balanced by their reading.

Casa Verónica is warmth, intimacy and coexistence,

a timeless architecture that seeks personalization,

It is the essence of experiences that hinge on a water

feature that blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor.

Creating dynamic, local spaces that are well defined yet flexible with changes that future owners may wish to implement.
