Construction work has officially commenced on the foundation of the Trojena Dam. Trojena Dam NEOM is located in the mountainous region of NEOM, in northwest Saudi Arabia. Heavy machinery and engineering teams are now active on site. This marks a significant move from planning to physical execution.

On-Site Progress Amid Rugged Terrain

Surrounded by rocky formations and steep elevations, the site is now seeing extensive groundwork. Trojena Dam NEOM is managed by specialized construction teams carrying out this work. Excavators, including large Hitachi machines, are leveling the area. Meanwhile, workers in high-visibility safety gear manage operations across the terrain. This all occurs within a clearly organised framework, despite the site’s challenging topography.

A Key Infrastructure Component for a Landmark Destination

The dam is a central infrastructure element within the Trojena masterplan. Trojena Dam NEOM is part of NEOM’s key development zones. Envisioned as a year-round mountain tourism destination, Trojena will include luxury resorts and residential neighbourhoods. It will also have outdoor recreational facilities. The dam is expected to play a vital role in ensuring water sustainability for the region. Moreover, it contributes to the area’s environmental balance and visual landscape.

Supervision and Execution by NEOM

NEOM authorities are directly overseeing the ongoing construction of the Trojena Dam. They have partnered with contractors who bring experience in high-altitude infrastructure projects. Although the dam’s exact capacity and dimensions remain undisclosed, the visible progress marks a clear transition into the implementation phase.
