Drawing Fields No. 6, an installation by Outpost Office

Home » Events » Drawing Fields No. 6, an installation by Outpost Office

Outpost Office’s Drawing Fields series of large-scale works explore the spatial potential of notation. Each project employs 1:1 scale, site-specific building-size drawings that are with GPS-controlled painting robots. The drawing series looks at architecture as the dynamic performance of spatial instructions using measuring, outlining, and marking approaches.

The architectural principles of permanence and material accumulation are questioned by the notational assemblies of Drawing Fields. The proposal avoids the waste that is frequently connected to temporary architecture. Every installation is biodegradable, non-toxic, and goes away with the wind, sun, and vegetation. The website gets back to how it was after a few weeks.

Outpost Office’s sixth and largest drawing in the series, will be at Art Omi on August 13.

Outpost Office’s sixth and largest drawing in the series, Drawing Fields No. 6, will be at Art Omi on August 13. Throughout the sketching process, visitors will have the chance to both views and inhabit the massive visual design. Drawing Fields No. 6 will explore early depictions of the Hudson River Valley landscape’s intimate scale, horizontality, and fine gradation.
