Ebe Collection by Nicola Gallizia Studio – illuminates homes with lunar magic

Thanks to the richness of the materials in contrast to its essential lines, Ebe is able to establish a dialogue with other decorative and architectural elements that surround it

Inspired by the reflections of the moon, with a name derived from the goddess of youth and lunar light, the new Ebe collection by Nicola Gallizia Design Studio for Masiero was designed to evoke a warm and intimate atmosphere in contemporary homes.

This collection features a galvanized steel fabric that filters and modulates light, creating magic and richness. The designer’s collaboration with the company has been instrumental in creating a product that is not only versatile and adaptable to any space, but also complements other decorative and architectural elements.

What inspired you in creating this collection? And how was its name chosen?

Nicola Gallizia:

“The inspiration came from observing the reflections of the moon. A material and variable light that can take on different colors. I chose to name this line of lamps Ebe because it was the name of the goddess symbolizing youth. Her figure is also associated with moonlight.

In classical iconography, the goddess has always been represented with light and sinuous shapes, recalling the soft plasticity of a sculpture. The dominant golden element not only evokes intrinsic preciousness but is also a tribute to Canova.”

What was the process of the project like? Were there any changes/evolutions/upheavals during the development?

Nicola Gallizia:

“As with any project, I always start with a suggestion, a formal and functional idea that then evolves into a project. The dialogue with the company is always important in my way of designing, as it is always a source of enrichment.”

Can you describe how the choice of materials, colors, and finishes came about?

Nicola Gallizia:

“The project is characterized by the choice of a galvanized colored steel fabric. A texture that filters and modulates light, creating magic and richness. As always, in my design, synthesis is an essential form to give value to materials and the function of illuminating.”

In what way, from your point of view, does this collection complete and represent an evolution of the Masiero catalog? What are its strengths in terms of sales?

Nicola Gallizia:

“I think this collection introduces a softer language, capable of responding to the needs of contemporary living. Today I design very warm and welcoming domestic spaces. My clients feel the home, and live it, as an intimate place and a space of serenity.

Furthermore, They spend much more time within the walls of their homes and want it to be a space that represents them. For this reason, light, a fundamental element in my design, must be warm, delicate, and a bit magical.”

If you were to suggest it to architects and interior designers, what are the environments for which this collection is best suited?

Nicola Gallizia:

“I am convinced that the versatility of the forms can adapt to all spaces in the house. As a jewel-object, Ebe is very suitable for minimalist environments but not only. Thanks to the richness of the materials in contrast to its essential lines, Ebe is able to establish a dialogue with other decorative and architectural elements that surround it, giving rise to interesting effects of aesthetic synergy.”
