Edinburgh Short Film Festival 2023: The Edinburgh Short Film Festival (ESFF) 2023, now in its 12th edition is calling for entries accepting submissions from any director(s) and like every year seeking short films in all forms, genres, and techniques from any part of the world.
About Competition
Edinburgh Short Film Festival (ESFF), screening the best in International contemporary short film & programming for other festivals across the UK & Internationally, now in its 12th edition is open for entries accepting submissions for 2023 in any form of the short film, genre, budgets, and techniques, from any part of the world.
Devoted to screening short films from Edinburgh, Scotland, and around the world, The ESFF evolved from the Leith Short Film Festival in 2011 and has shown everything – from the first film made in Somalia in 20 years to Oscar-nominated shorts from Australia, the USA, and Ireland, as well as short films smuggled out of China and Iran – and hosted visiting film-makers from China, Russia, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and all over the UK.
The maximum duration for submitted films is 25 minutes including credits. International films are welcomed and all genres are eligible.
English subtitles are required for any film, not in English.
The Edinburgh Short Film Festival(ESFF) 2023 will take place in November 2023.
Winners announcement on awards night November 5th, 2023.
Eligibility
Any director(s) will be eligible for the selected films for exhibition at the 2023 Edinburgh Short Film Festival.
Prize
ESFF will present awards and trophies for the best films for 2023 selected by the jury for Best Film, Best Animation & Best Scottish Short.
