From the 6th to the 8th of October 2023, the Archivio di Stato di Napoli was home to the fifth edition of EDIT Napoli 2023 – a celebration of quality, sustainability and craftsmanship through the concept of slow design. Organizers Emilia Petruccelli and Domitilla Dardi have carefully chosen each year since 2019, showing the works of independent designers, creators and producers from around the world. The wide range of products exhibited included ceramics, textiles, furnishings, surfaces, accessories and lights – all with the focus pointed to the living sector. With DesignWanted as their Media Partner, visitors of the event had the opportunity to experience and experiment, scouting for talented young artists and innovative sustainable picks. EDIT Napoli has proven to be a thriving ‘piazza’ of the creative community, connecting projects, companies and people since 2019.

Franca and Allegra by Punto Zero

Punto Zero studio launched Franca and Allegra; a variety of dining and coffee tables for a range of purposes. This series was birthed from the study of the merging of the 60s attitude with a modernistic outlook. These tables are composed of MDF, and are machined with numerical control and then manually sanded in order to provide a round top. Its legs are partially crafted by hand, with a timber sub-frame of poplar plywood on which thin double layers of MDF cover the curves. Each exterior component is sanded manually prior to polishing the surfaces with a glossy polyester paint and a scratch-resistant polyurethane. These finishes showcase the curved shapes from the edge of the top and the legs. EDIT Napoli 2023

Onice 45 by Mas Design

Maria Adele Savioli, an architect and designer, designed MAS Design’s hand-crafted furniture inspired by the transformation of indoor spaces. Onice 45 is a collection with clean lines and pure materials such as glass, iron, and brass. It takes shape through the planning of a space as a result of a dialogue between a place’s identity. The people living there, and the language used in design. It is tables with onyx tops with 45-degree edges, and coated L-shaped iron profiles that form coloured line prospects. These tables become mini architectures for everyday life.
