To improve its emotional intelligence and encourage more social connections between humans and robots, Eilik uses touch sensors.
In terms of intent and operation, the Eilik Robot is comparable to a Tamagotchi. Eilik is a companion device by Energize Lab that reacts to human interaction with animated facial emotions that light up an OLED screen.
The capability to link with other devices is another characteristic that Eilik has in common with a Tamagotchi.

Eilik amuses itself when left alone, but when joined with another Eilik, they can play or engage in conflict.
Eiliks can be gathered together to create miniature armies that perform synchronized dancing and singing.
Moreover, Eilik’s hands are more flexible and dexterous thanks to a custom EM3 servo motor. Customers can control the robot’s screen brightness and volume with their hands, which change by lifting them up and down.
Eilik can store a variety of food and drink products thanks to magnets with the Energize Lab design team.
The robot can hear voices, touch, and impact/shock, thanks to a series of mics and touch sensors. A vibration motor also gives haptic feedback comparable to an animal responding to petting.
Eilik’s software, a handbook, and a USB-C cord for charging are all included with each robot, which sells separately and measures 5.2 inches tall.
A helpful device that is also friendly
Eilik is entertaining, yet it serves a function that goes beyond being a toy.
It reduces tension the way a pet would, but it also assists with work by serving as an alarm clock, a stopwatch, or a Pomodoro timer, drawing inspiration from the idea of a robot helper but packaged in a little table-top device.
