Competition Brief

The Emotions on Display 2025 competition is a call for designers to present their ideas for the exploration of the relationship between architecture and human emotions through immersive museum environments. The participants are required to illustrate spaces that lead to emotional experiences by means of the arrangement of the space, interactions, and the design of the environment. Thus, the competition is the arena for the exploration of such an architectural space that appeals to the emotions of the viewers by offering a rich emotional spectrum through the use of various techniques.

The competition has an underlying aim of making the participants to reveal the side of architectural design that is capable of swaying the emotional state of a person and thus, creating a human experience that is more and more meaningful. The designs are to be such that the spaces not only accommodate but also during the spatial and sensory organization thoughtfully, evoke feelings of happiness, calmness, and others such as curiosity, thrill, contemplation, and finally, even, uplifting.

Purpose

This competition gives the designers a hard time thinking only about traditional architectural forms and going into the emotional response aspect of museum design. ✦ ArchUp Competition Review

The Emotions on Display 2025 competition is going to be held by an independent design competition platform, which gives very little public information about the organizing body and no names of the jury members have been disclosed, hence the lack of transparency and difficulty in verifying professional assessment standards. It can be regarded as a competition in which mainly conceptual and educational processes are involved. Cash prizes are offered, but their amount is very small compared to the design work that is mostly speculative and very often narrative-based. The main advantage for the participants is portfolio development and conceptual exploration. The lack of detailed jury credentials diminishes the academic and professional stature of the competition.

Conclusion and Final Thoughts

The Emotions on Display 2025 competition will be a great opportunity for designers to show the world how important and closely related are architectural spaces and human emotions. With the competition’s structure designed this way, it is expected that a wide range of participants will come. Designers should create emotional and architecturally innovative environments and at the same time clearly explain how their designs meet the challenge’s goals.
