The European Architecture Design Award launches its inaugural 2027 edition with professional and emerging tracks across sixteen built-environment categories. The programme is organised by the Farmani Group and is open internationally, including work outside Europe.

The official EADA pages currently publish conflicting opening dates, deadlines, fee periods and refund terms. ArchUp therefore treats 7 May 2027 as the latest programme-page deadline but advises entrants to confirm the live portal and invoice before payment.

Tracks and eligibility

OrganizerFarmani Group, operating the European Architecture Design Award.
Professional trackArchitects, studios, urban planners and landscape architects worldwide.
Emerging trackStudents, recent graduates and architects in the first five years of practice.
Eligible workThe FAQ states that work completed within the last five years is eligible; the conceptual and unbuilt category also accepts competition entries, speculative visions, research proposals and student theses.
CategoriesSixteen fields include residential, commercial, cultural and civic, interior, public space, landscape, sustainable architecture, adaptive reuse, education, healthcare, temporary work, conceptual and unbuilt, small-scale and technology.

Submission, fees and evaluation

Submission packageProject title, location, year, credits, description up to 600 words, and 6–10 images at least 2000 px on the long edge. An optional PDF up to 25 MB may be added.
Base fees€400 professional and €200 emerging/student per entry. Additional-category charges and time-limited discounts are advertised; the live amount should be checked before payment.
Latest published final deadline7 May 2027 on the current How to Submit page. Other official pages still display January 30 or earlier opening and discount dates.
EvaluationNine published criteria: aesthetics, innovation, practicality, ergonomics, durability, impact, integration, ecological responsibility and emotional quotient.
ResultsThe current submission page states June 2027. Winners receive a digital seal, certificate, profile and ceremony invitation; these are recognition and publicity benefits, not cash prizes or project commissions.

Rights and source limits

The general legal notice restricts reproduction, while the dedicated press page explicitly clears its official press assets for editorial use with credit. ArchUp uses only the official EADA press logo under that specific media permission. Entrants remain responsible for image rights in their own submissions.

✦ ArchUp Competition Review

The programme’s category structure and published criteria allow a useful first comparison across completed, conceptual and emerging work. Its inaugural status, however, means applicants cannot assess a previous EADA winner cycle or a delivery record for this exact programme.

The contradictory dates are a substantive administrative weakness. A responsible entrant should preserve a screenshot of the live fee and deadline shown at payment and avoid relying on a promotional page alone.

Indicative time remaining

Indicative only: 23:59 UTC on 7 May is an editorial planning assumption. EADA publishes conflicting dates and no confirmed closing hour.
