Goyo chair: a quiet space for meditation

The Korean designer Lee ye chan has created the Goyo chair. Specifically designed to facilitate the practice of meditation, a healthy way to enjoy solitude and reduce stress and pressure.

Solitude is becoming increasingly common as the number of people living alone in all age groups continues to rise.

Solitude can lead to feelings of depression and mental illness and increase the risk of solitary death. In order to address these issues.

The Goyo chair, which has an overall shape similar to a lounge chair, features a large singing bowl wrapped around the backrest and seat plate. The singing bowl, a meditation tool used by Tibetan monks for meditation and ceremonies, is designed to induce concentration through the use of sound waves produced by rubbing and hitting its surface.

By sitting in the Goyo chair and enclosing themselves in the singing bowl, the user is able to create a quiet space for meditation, while also being able to focus more on their pulse and breathing sound due to the louder sound of the singing bowl.

In addition to the singing bowl, the Goyo chair is a piece of furniture designed with comfort in mind.

The seat plate is rounded to allow for a softer seating experience. The inside of the legs of the chair is shaved to provide a more comfortable resting place for the legs. The overall shape of the chair is organic and aesthetically pleasing.

In conclusion, this unique chair by Lee yen chan offers a solution for those seeking to enjoy solitude and practice meditation in a comfortable and quiet environment.

Its design incorporates the use of a singing bowl and ergonomic features. Therefore, allows for a more effective and enjoyable meditation experience.
