The Inspire Future Generations Awards (IFG) for 2024, now in their fourth year, recognize and celebrate outstanding initiatives, organizations, and individuals who are bridging the gap between the built environment and young people. These awards are open to built environment professionals across the private and public sectors, as well as cultural practitioners.

Award Significance

The IFG Awards highlight the importance of youth inclusion in the built environment, an often underappreciated area that merges various disciplines and perspectives. The awards emphasize the value of engaging young people in shaping the spaces around them, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the built environment.

Impact and Knowledge Sharing

Each year, winning entries are added to the TET Resource Bank, providing valuable resources and examples that can inspire others. This initiative aims to share knowledge and promote best practices in integrating youth perspectives into the built environment.

Notable Remarks

Simeon Shtebunaev, RTPI Young Planner of the Year 2022 and RIBAJ Rising Star 2021, has noted the significance of the awards: “Youth inclusion in the built environment is an underappreciated strand of work, but one that merges so many disciplines and perspectives—reflected in the range of IFG awards!”

The IFG Awards continue to shine a light on this crucial work, encouraging more professionals to involve young people in shaping the future of our communities.
