1. Overview

The “International Design Competition for the New DAEGU Metropolitan City Hall” aims to create a new administrative landmark in Daegu, South Korea. The current city hall facilities are outdated and fragmented across several locations, causing inefficiencies in administrative operations. This competition seeks innovative design proposals for a new, unified city hall that can serve the public efficiently while becoming a symbol of civic pride.

The selected site is the Duryu Water Purification Plant area in Dalseo-gu, chosen through a participatory process involving 250 citizens. The competition is open to participants worldwide and will be held from May 28 to September 18, 2025.
